Luna Beach Resort takes great pleasure in announcing the arrival of Alan Collins, our new Dive Shop Manager. Alan arrived on February 12th and immediately assumed his duties as manager. Alan has a long history of diving and teaching. He began diving in 1980, became a Dive Master in 2005, and a Master Scuba Diver Trainer in 2008. Although a recent PADI Instructor, Alan has already certified over 100 students from open water through Dive Master, and is no stranger to teaching. As a 20 veteran of the National Ski Patrol, he taught Outdoor Emergency Care to other Ski Patrollers. He brings with him a comprehensive background in Emergency Medicine, Safety and scuba diving. Alan is a Navy veteran serving his time as a Hospital Corpsman. His diving resume includes 500+ dives throughout the globe and several years of dive mastering not only with other instructors, but also as the Dive Master and Safety Officer aboard dive boats in the L.A. area. Since his arrival, Alan has already implemented several new safety features for our dive boat. Drift lines, drop tanks and a hang bar were immediate changes made upon his arrival. Along with the new safety features Alan has also begun several new programs at the resort, including a photo contest, a Diver’s “Meet-N-Greet” upon arrival and evening educational seminars for those interested in furthering their knowledge of our oceans…
